The brief was simple and stubborn: four black squares, a 10×10 frame, and a list of words to express graphically using nothing else. No type, no color, no extra shapes, only position, scale, and the relationship between four equal pieces.
The exercise turned out to be more about restraint than composition. Each word forced a different conversation between the squares: tension, balance, rhythm, isolation. Stripped down to that vocabulary, even small adjustments started to read as decisions.
