US, Movie Poster Recreation

Project 2 of Digital Foundations was a Photoshop exercise: choose a movie poster and recreate it with yourself in it. The brief was about compositing, masking, and color matching, but the choice of poster shaped the whole exercise.

I chose Us because the doppelgänger image was already a Photoshop problem in narrative form, two of the same person staring at each other through one composition. The recreation forced me to read the original poster slowly: which light is doing the work, which silhouette is doing the work, and where the eye is supposed to land.
